About

Journey

Over six decades ago I began my journey into the world of woodworking. Learning to appreciate and read the natural beauty of wood I strove to enhance and extract this inherent elegance. After many years of honing my skills I discovered my love for wood turning. I have spent the past decade or so focusing on wood turning.

Process

Each piece starts with the selection of just the right piece of wood from a fallen tree. Aging each piece until it is properly seasoned and ready to be transformed into an objet d'art. Some of the most naturally exquisite specimens come from abnormal growths called burls and from fungi that attack woods and create lovely spalted segments. Seeking out these special woods is part my process for creating very special wood turnings.
